Pollution

AURA

Pollution gets our attention because it’s unpleasant to inhale, can make us cough and our eyes itch, etc. It’s enough to make you want it to stop. In fact, our scribe who’s been dutifully recording everything we say wrote an essay in second grade called “Bus exhaust and what it means to me” (He used to walk home from school along a bus route is why.)

Researchers have concluded that the CO2 that pollution produces will also make the climate different from what we’re used to: Ice caps are melting and eventually beachfront properties will have to relocate farther and farther inland.

CORONADO

Maybe we should get a plot in Alaska for when it goes tropical?

You two are so jumpy. These things take time, long time. Don’t waste your money.

Paleoclimatologist Maureen Raymo says the atmosphere right now is like it was in the Pliocene era several million years ago and that the oceans and ice sheets are adjusting accordingly. Although the tropics were about the same then as now, the rest of the world north and south of them was warmer. Most of Florida was under water, for instance.

Meteors. Weather. We’ll see..
