The Seven Cities of Cibola
AURA
Here’s a little something I looked up about Coronado’s trek east.
Only six of the Seven Cities of Cibola have been located by historians, and it’s quite possible there were only six. All Zunis still in the area today live in one: present day Zuni, population 2,000. In Coronado’s time, the estimated combined population of the six or seven “cities” was 6,000. They extended from Hawikuh in the west, then east 15 miles to Kiákima along the Zuni River Valley, which is now in the Zuni Indian Reservation. - Just trying to help out, Coronado.
CORONADO
Well, things happen, what can I say.
