Mars Astronomer Percival Lowell

SINE

It's hard for people to get excited about astronomy when all they see is a telescope that looks like a pipe. You have to look into one end and out the other end, and even then it's just looking at sky you can see anyway. But when you zoom in big, it looks like art, which maybe is why Aura is getting interested. Just click the link I put in this note to see some things Lowell telescope has seen. And then there is looking at other places like Mars that we may even go to. It's like looking at a tourist brochure. Pictures may pull us in more when we can zoom in more. Now it's like a mental exercise, imagining chemistry without being in a lab, without even being on or even close to another planet.

Mars Astronomer Percival Lowell was like our Coronado. He started in business like you in Wichita real estate. But then he found astronomy more exciting. He saw lines on Mars and thought somebody made canals. He made other people excited, too. Nothing happens unless people are excited.
