Apollo-Soyuz

SINE

We all very lucky everybody able to get along good enough to not use missiles on each other. Even more lucky US and Russia start cooperate on space.

I not Russian, but when somebody in any space program you pay attention to everybody’s space programs. So I tell you: even though US not using Shuttle now, when using it, Americans rode in Mir (Russian space station), and Russians orbit in Shuttle. Before Russians ride in Shuttle, they require train in Houston on American equipment, and when in U.S. they tour US for one month tour.

First project together was July 17-19, 1975 when American Apollo and Russian Soyuz spacecraft connect in orbit. 1995 was twentieth anniversary in Washington, where Russian captain Alexi Leonov together again with American captain Tom Stafford, but on spaceship Earth. Very emotional, with Planetary Society, American Astronautical Society, National Space Club. Reaching out together.

Chinese never in on that. But China coming along now. Rock samples from moon on display at Johnson Space 25 miles south of Houston. Maybe one day I go. Almost anyone can touch. Almost. But Chinese need special permit, if can get one.

China plan collect some from moon in 2019 with Chang'e-5 mission. I include link about it. Even 10 day weather forecast if you want go Houston.
