You would think that something like air pollution that smacks everybody in the nose and eyes every day is something people would do something about. Like The Grand Canyon Visibility Transport Commission: They’ve got reps from eight states and the best they came up with in their 1995 report was to hand off the matter to the Clean Air Act, on the presumption that LA would be clear by 2009 and that eleven Western power plants would be shut down by 2040. Except that, as a guy from the Sierra Club (Rob Smith) pointed out, here it is 2019 and LA is far from clear. And in general, the national parks are more polluted than ever.

There is hope: In China, the biggest air purifier started in 2017, and more are coming. It did improve the air there. I also heard of machines like this one I put into a text link that go in the ocean to collect trash you can’t even see from airplanes.
